“Kritische Kartographie im Jahr 2020” (“Critical Cartography in the year 2020”)
Critical-creative maps by geography students reflecting on the fabric of society in the year 2020 and beyond.
As part of the methods seminar “Kritische Kartographien” (“Critical Cartographies”) (in the summer semester of 2020), student projects have produced six mappings on different thematic complexes around ‘Corona’, ‘Border Regimes’, ‘Right to the City’, ‘Street Names & Colonial Continuities’ and ‘Emotionality, Body & Affect’. In the process, through a great deal of commitment, maps beyond the usual templates have been developed that bring creativity, resistance and art into dialogue in relation to space.
The seminar was led by Katrin Singer.
Subsequently, a digital open source atlas was created from these maps.
