Parklet Project

“‘Park’ mal anders” (“Park’ differently”) – Ideas for a Parklet at the Geomatikum

The Parklet project is about future ideas for public space. We ask ourselves what human-environment relationships can take place in the city. In the course of the project, it will be explored whether a parklet can be realized in the neighborhood of the Geomatikum.

How do you envision parklets? What futures do you wish for regarding the use of public spaces? What encounters do you envision in public spaces?

What is it about?

We invite you to share your idea(s) for Parklets with us. We prepare the workshop, provide materials for creative work and provide a cozy atmosphere. Please bring a bunch of ideas and/or questions and a willingness to be interviewed about your parklet idea.

What is a parklet?

A parklet is a (structural) re-functioning of a parking lot. The idea is that parking lots can also be parks and squares. Where there is usually a car, a temporary, non-commercial and openly accessible meeting place is created.

The workshops took place in the period from June to July 2022.
