Teaching

Hello!
I am Cristina Villari and I studied Linguistics at the University of Bologna (Italy). After several scholarships abroad in the USA and Germany, I chose Berlin as my place to live.
I live here with my family: Thomas, my husband, and our three children, Luca (10), Alma (7) and Ben (2).
In Berlin, I did my doctorate at the Institute for Latin American Studies at the Free University on the contact between Spanish and Quechua, an indigenous language of Peru.
During this time, I also taught as a lecturer at the University of Hamburg.
I enjoyed the field research in Peru and working with Katrin Singer with bilingual Quechua-Spanish children so much that I decided to pursue a teaching career.
From 2017 to 2019, I completed a master’s degree in secondary school teaching at Freie Universität.
After an internship and a traineeship at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Gymnasium in Berlin Pankow, I am now a teacher (Studienrätin) for the subjects Italian and Spanish.
I have been teaching Spanish at Carlo-Schmidt-Oberschule since summer 2022 and am the class teacher of a bilingual eighth grade (Spanish-German).
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in projects that bring university and school together.
The children are our future and we can achieve a lot with partnerships between university and school!
See you soon,
Dr. Cristina Villari
