I have been studying at the Hamburg Institute of Geography since 2020 and have been working in the KGGU working group since Spring 2023. In my geography studies, I am interested in different areas of human geography, but particularly in urban and economic geography. In the first area, I deal with urban mobility and the transition of systems of transport. I am particularly interested in how the transition to an ecologically sustainable and socially just transportation system can be designed and implemented. In economic geography, I deal with Marxist theory, especially the social relationship to nature under capitalism. Here, too, I am interested in what a break with capitalism could look like and who would carry it out and by what means. The synthesis of both topics will be formed in my Bachelor’s thesis in summer 2024.
In the kollektiv kartattack, a student mapping collective, I work with critical cartography. A number of events and workshops have arisen from this context, in which we use maps in various forms to criticize existing conditions. Mapping can be an educational and empowering process that is accessible to everyone.
